The Circuit Court criminal division handles approximately 800 cases per year. The majority
of these cases are felonies including homicide, first degree assault, sexual offenses, child
abuse, vehicular homicide, robbery, narcotics offenses, and burglary. In addition, the civil
asset forfeiture unit is housed within this division. This unit works to seize the assets
(vehicles, money, etc.) of narcotic dealers within our community. This money is then turned
over to law enforcement for training, purchase of equipment, and other investigative needs.
