VICTIM/WITNESS PROGRAM

The victim/witness program is designed to serve several important functions in the prosecution of cases. The goal of the unit is to assist the crime victims and witnesses in their contact with the criminal justice system. They serve to notify individuals of court dates, changes in the Defendant's status and answer any questions regarding the process. Some of the services/information you can obtain though the victim witness unit are:

  • Status information on your case
  • Counseling referrals
  • Victim impact information and forms
  • Restitution information and assistance
  • Information regarding your rights as a crime victim
  • Criminal Injuries Compensation Board information
  • Courtroom accompaniment and orientation
The State's Attorney's Office has four victim/witness coordinators. They are: Each individual is well trained and dedicated to helping the crime victim and witness through the criminal justice process.
